Comcast Cable’s growing international businesses are focused on advanced advertising services, video platform technology and technology services.  The primary office is based in London, UK with other major hubs in India and China, and an overall footprint that spans Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

 

Role Overview

This newly created role of SVP & Deputy General Counsel, International Legal will oversee the Comcast Cable Legal function internationally, including supervising Cable Legal personnel abroad, serving as the central point of contact for international legal advice for the Cable businesses across a variety of disciplines, and ensuring full coordination with the Comcast Cable and Comcast Corporate Legal Departments in the U.S.  The ideal candidate has broad exposure and experience across a wide variety of legal disciplines, including Commercial Transactional law, Compliance, and Litigation with deep expertise in one or more areas.  General familiarity with employment law and privacy law are a plus.  This candidate should also have experience and/or knowledge of technology, media, entertainment, and advertising industries.   

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Build, lead and manage the newly created International Legal group for Comcast Cable.  Provide effective leadership, ensuring an effective on-going programme of professional development.

- Represent the Legal team at the Senior Management level for all Comcast Cable businesses, supporting strategic initiatives and planning.

- Establish connections with key management of international teams throughout the Comcast Cable international footprint, including Europe, India, Asia, and the Middle East.

- Identify and assess risk areas and legal needs and challenges for the expanding international reach of the Cable business and identify appropriate legal resources to address these, including existing NBCUniversal and Comcast Cable Legal resources.

- Oversee selection of and relationships with outside counsel in the international arena.

- Identify areas for cooperation and integration with NBCU International Legal specialist teams, including Compliance, Litigation, Corporate and Company Secretarial, Employment Law, and Privacy.

- In coordination with Comcast Cable attorneys in the U.S., oversee and manage legal, litigation and compliance issues affecting the business operations abroad, including but not limited to privacy and data security, intellectual property, anti-corruption and anti-bribery, regulatory, and employment matters. 

- Assist with the roll-out and deployment of Comcast Compliance programs and associated training to the Comcast international business units.

- Provide support for Corporate initiatives and requirements.

- Establish and oversee Legal budget for ongoing international activities.

The London-based Advisory Services Consultant will be responsible for the delivery of advisory engagements for clients and prospects. This person will be part of FreeWheel’s growing EU Advisory Services team, which is responsible for supporting premium EU publishers and distributors with practical, actionable recommendations that deliver tangible results, with one objective in mind: to make their professional digital ad business more profitable.

Reporting to the Commercial Directer, the Sales Engineer is the primary technical resource for the field sales force when selling our platform technology to our most strategic prospects and accounts at major TV broadcasters, premium publishers and video advertising networks. The Sales engineer is also a resource and partner to the Business Development and Product Management teams to lead integration and deployment for our ecosystem of platform partners. The Sales Engineer is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The Sales Engineer will also facilitate ongoing collection of feature requests and technical integrations for prospect and existing clients. The Sales Engineer must be fluent in articulating technology and product positioning to both business and technical audiences, and establish and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales cycle.
