The Advanced Advertising group within Comcast delivers technology and enterprise-level products and services to customers in the media and advertising industries globally. Through its patented technology and deep sector expertise, the group develops, deploys, and supports an array of digital media and technology solutions within the fast-paced global multi-platform advertising sector. 

 

Based in Central London, the International Counsel will be responsible for providing legal support on the day-to-day transactions and matters affecting the business units in Comcast’s Advanced Advertising Division operating internationally. With supervision, Counsel will be responsible for providing advice and recommendations on NDAs, technology services contracts, professional services contracts and vendor agreements with counterparts in UK, Europe, MENA and APAC. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities:

- Advise and support sales teams in the negotiation of commercial agreements across product offerings and jurisdictions by drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of templated technology agreements, including SAAS contracts, data security addenda, privacy, license and distribution agreements and product development agreements.

- Draft, review and negotiate contracts with vendors including, marketing and sponsorship, software licensing, professional services and technical services.

- Undertake legal research on regulations that affect contracts with customers and vendors and the Division’s business in general.

- Manage outside counsel on routine matters within the scope of subject matter expertise.

- Deliver introductory legal process and negotiation training to sales and operational teams.

- Undertake such other duties consistent with strategic plans and directives as determined by line manager.

 

Experience:

Private Practice and in-house experience in corporate, commercial, technology and privacy.  Counsel will have experience handling:

- Technology contracts: SAAS, web services/cloud computing, Framework Agreements/SOWs, software licenses and information security agreements.

- Commercial contracts to acquire goods and services (technical and professional).

- Privacy related agreements such as data processing and transfer agreements.

- Corporate resolutions and company secretarial documentation.

 

Desired:

- Experience of media buying/selling contracts, creative compliance and content delivery. 

- Knowledge of the digital media and advertising ecosystem.

- International experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

- Qualified lawyer in the UK or other EU jurisdiction, 1- 3 years PQE   

- Post qualification experience with a top law firm

- Demonstrably deep knowledge of commercial law principles, such as warranties, indemnities, limitation of liability, confidentiality, breach of contract, jurisdiction, etc.

- Current practicing certificate (or EU equivalent)

- CPD record in relevant law

- Detailed approach to ensure quality and accuracy of output.

- Logical reasoning and sound judgment.

- Strong organizational skills: able to impose order, meet deadlines and deliver consistently high quality work product when dealing with multiple stakeholders, conflicting priorities and a fast-paced environment.

- Flexible interpersonal skills – able to work effectively with management, sales and operations personnel at all levels of the business.
